Er was daar niemand, alleen wij schilders. De rieten overkappingen, die ik heb geschilderd worden vandaag afgebroken omdat er nog zo&#8217;n villa bijkomt. Water is er niet op het eiland, dat moet allemaal aangevoerd worden vanaf Lamu. Of ze zwembaden hebben heb ik niet kunnen zien.<\/p>\n<p><em>A wonderful day at Manda island which we can see from Lamu. That is where the rich and famous build their houses. Nobody there, exept us painters. The small houses I painted will be gone tomorrow, because they will build another villa instead. There is no water on the island, it all has to come from Lamu.
