Een bewoner wilde graag een schilderij van dit mooie stukje Amsterdam. Ik nam de uitdaging aan en hij was tevreden. Hij bezorgde me zelfs een kleine expositie in de Wijnkelder aldaar, tijdens een wijnproeverij. Een aanleiding voor mij om nog wat meer schilderijen van de Brouwersgracht te maken. De Wijnhandelaar kocht er een en hing het in zijn zaak. En dat schilderij blijkt nog altijd goede reclame te zijn. Er wonen veel expats aan de Brouwersgracht. En als ze na een paar jaar weer verhuizen naar een andere stad, meestal met pijn in het hart, willen ze graag een souvenir. En soms is dat een schilderij van mij. A resident asked for a painting of this beautiful part of Amsterdam. I accepted the challenge and he was satisfied with the result. He organised a small exhibition in the wine cellar, during a wine tasting. An opportunity for me to make a few more paintings of the Brouwersgracht. The wine merchant bought one of the paintings and hung it in his wine shop. And that painting turns out to be a good advert. There are many expats living at Brouwersgracht. And again after a few years as they move to another city, usually with regret, they want a souvenir. And sometimes that is a painting of mine.
